When I lived in northwest Ohio I was able to purchase a few skeins (sp) of ‘rag’ (balls of thin pieces of fabric tied together) to make very eclectic scarves….I made 5 of them and whenever I wear one I receive compliments. I am trying to find a place to purchase over the internet.
Can you direct me? Thank you in advance. Rosanne

Hi Rosanne
I’ve just had a quick lookon etsy.com – it’s a place where you buy and sell handmade goods. I’ve found one lady that spins rags into rag yarn.

And here’s a lady who’s getting rid of 10 balls of off-the-shelf Rowan rag yarn

You could also try ebay, though that will be most likely manufactured, and not hand knotted.
I like to buy old op shop sheets, doona covers, table cloths and remnants. I rip them up and knot them together. It’s messy, and takes time, but the end result is pretty snazzy.
Cheers, Inge.
